Anxiety is not something that we can simply “calm down.” It is a physical and mental process our bodies and brains learn over time. Your body is incredibly smart. It learns to act in ways that protect you. Unfortunately, it sometimes is too cautious—this is when anxiety can get out of hand. Together we will unlearn those unhelpful processes, and learn new ways of dealing with anxious thoughts and feelings.
My job as your psychologist is to provide you with a personalized, individualized treatment plan targeting your anxiety and worry. I use evidence based techniques that work by retraining your mind and your body to only respond to real danger. My goal is to work myself out of a job as quickly as possible, and ultimately help you to be your own therapist.
